Environment Agency Registration
What it is: Authorisation from the Environment Agency — the government body that regulates waste handling in England — covering the storage, treatment and processing of waste electrical and IT equipment at our Nottingham facility.
Why it matters to you: It is illegal for unauthorised sites to process electronic waste. Using an authorised facility means your old equipment is handled at a site the regulator oversees — not stripped for parts and fly-tipped or shipped abroad. Businesses also have a legal Duty of Care to ensure their waste goes to authorised facilities, and this registration is the proof your records need.
Waste Carrier, Broker & Dealer Registration
What it is: Registration permitting us to legally transport and deal in waste — including collecting old IT equipment directly from your home or business premises.
Why it matters to you: If an unregistered carrier takes your waste away and it is later found dumped, the law can hold YOU responsible under Duty of Care rules. Our registration means collections are lawful end to end, and every business collection comes with a waste transfer note so your paper trail is complete.
ISO 9001:2015 — Quality Management
What it is: The international standard for quality management systems. It means our processes for receiving, tracking, testing, repairing and documenting every device are defined, followed and independently audited.
Why it matters to you: Every device that enters our facility is logged and handled through the same documented process — whether it's your laptop in for repair, a refurbished PC being prepared for sale, or a hard drive awaiting destruction. An external auditor checks that we do what we say. It's the difference between "trust us" and "here's our audited process."

ICO Data Protection Registration
What it is: Registration with the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator. Organisations that process personal data are required by law to register with the ICO and pay the annual data protection fee.
Why it matters to you: When you hand us a device, you're trusting us with the data on it — your photos and documents, or your customers' records. Our ICO registration means we are accountable to the UK data protection regulator for how that data is handled, which underpins our repairs, our certified data wiping and our destruction services. For business clients, using an ICO-registered processor supports your own UK GDPR compliance.

Company Registration — Commercial IT Recycling Ltd
What it is: Certificate of incorporation of the limited company behind Tech Repair Hub.
Why it matters to you: You're dealing with an established, registered UK company that has operated from this Nottingham site for years — not a pop-up trader. Our full company details are on every invoice and at the bottom of every page of this website.

Cyber Essentials Plus
What it is: A UK government-backed cyber security certification. The "Plus" level means our systems were independently, technically audited — not just self-assessed — against controls covering firewalls, secure configuration, access control, malware protection and updates.
Why it matters to you: Your device and your data pass through OUR systems when we repair, wipe or refurbish it. Cyber Essentials Plus means those systems are independently tested against attack — and if you are a business client, working with certified suppliers supports your own supply-chain security requirements (it is mandatory for many public-sector contracts).

ISO 14001:2015 — Environmental Management
What it is: The international standard for environmental management systems — audited processes for minimising environmental impact, central to how our recycling facility operates.
Why it matters to you: It means "recycled responsibly" is not a slogan: waste streams, reuse-first handling and disposal routes are documented and externally audited every year.
