IT Recycling & Computer Disposal in Nottingham
When a business replaces its computers, the old ones become somebody's problem. They can't go in the bin — WEEE regulations don't allow it — and every laptop, desktop and server that leaves your building still holds whatever was on it the day you switched it off.
We collect redundant IT equipment from businesses across Nottingham, Derby and Mansfield, wipe or destroy every data-bearing device, and recycle what's left. You get the paperwork that proves it, and 100% of what we collect is diverted from landfill.
Recycling and data destruction services are provided by our sister company Computer IT Disposals, an Environment Agency licensed waste carrier (CBDU457511).

How it works
A rough list is enough to start — twenty laptops, a rack of servers, a storeroom nobody's opened since 2019. We'll come back with a free, no-obligation assessment. If you're not sure what's in there, say so; we've cleared plenty of cupboards nobody could inventory.
We'll agree a date and tell you exactly what happens to your equipment before anything moves. Free collection is available for qualifying business volumes — we'll confirm when we know what you have.
Every item is counted before it leaves your building, and the counts go straight onto the Waste Transfer Note and Duty of Care documentation. Where the load requires a Hazardous Waste Consignment Note, that's raised on site too. Everything is completed and signed digitally on a tablet while we're with you, and copies are emailed to you the same day.
Your equipment travels in our own GPS-tracked, insured vehicles, driven by staff security-screened to BS 7858, direct to the licensed facility. Nothing is transferred to a third party in between. On arrival it's checked in item for item against the count taken at your site.
Data-bearing devices are individually serialised at processing, then wiped or destroyed. Equipment that can be reused is refurbished; everything else is recycled. Within five working days you receive one compliance pack under a single collection reference.
How your data is destroyed
Every data-bearing device is processed to HMG Infosec Standard No. 5 (the UK Government data erasure standard) or NIST 800-88 (Clear or Purge, matched to your policy), or physically shredded in accordance with BS EN 15713 where destruction is required.
Which route applies depends on your own policy. Some organisations require physical destruction of every drive; others are satisfied with certified erasure, which has the advantage of keeping the hardware in use. We'll talk it through rather than assume — and if you're not sure what your policy says, that conversation is usually a short one.
All destruction takes place at the licensed facility, not at your premises.
The paperwork you actually get
Compliance isn't a certificate — it's a chain. Your equipment is counted before it leaves your building, and the Waste Transfer Note and Duty of Care documentation are completed and signed digitally on site, with copies emailed to you the same day. Where the load requires a Hazardous Waste Consignment Note, that's raised on site too.
Within five working days you receive one compliance pack under a single collection reference: Data Destruction Certificate, WEEE Certificate, ESG Report and Asset Audit — every document cross-referenced against the paperwork you signed at collection.
The Asset Audit carries serial numbers for data-bearing devices. Mixed WEEE — monitors, cables, peripherals — is counted rather than serialised, because a serial report on a box of keyboards helps nobody.
Got old tech sitting at home? Drop it off.
Old laptops, phones, tablets, desktops and cables don't belong in the bin — and the drive inside still holds your photos, emails and bank details long after you've deleted them. Bring it to our Nottingham workshop and we'll securely wipe every data-bearing device before anything is recycled.
Send us an enquiry first. Tell us roughly what you've got and we'll book your drop-off visit and give you a ticket number, so we know you're coming and your equipment is logged the moment it arrives.
Unit 3A, 3 Gibbons Street, Nottingham NG7 2SB · 0115 855 9414
A rough list is fine: two old laptops, a desktop, a box of cables.
Data-bearing devices are securely wiped, everything else is recycled properly.
Replacing what you're clearing?
A refurbished business laptop costs a fraction of new and arrives configured and ready to work, backed by a 12-month warranty as standard — with extended cover available up to three years if you'd rather not think about it again. And because we're clearing your old equipment anyway, the whole changeover happens with one supplier.
Reuse first, recycle second — 100% diverted from landfill
Every item is counted before it leaves your building, and every collection comes back to the licensed facility, where data-bearing devices are individually serialised at processing. Drives are securely wiped or physically destroyed, working machines are refurbished for reuse, and anything beyond saving is broken down into recyclable material streams — so your old IT becomes an audited, documented process instead of a risk.

Frequently asked questions
Do I get a certificate when my computers are recycled?
Yes. Within five working days of collection you receive a compliance pack under a single reference: Data Destruction Certificate, WEEE Certificate, ESG Report and Asset Audit. They cross-reference the Waste Transfer Note you signed when we collected, so the documents tell one consistent story if anyone ever audits them.
Is IT collection really free?
Free collection is available for qualifying business volumes. Because it depends on what you have and where you are, we'll confirm before anything is booked — the assessment itself is free and carries no obligation.
Can I drop off old IT equipment in Nottingham?
Yes, at our Gibbons Street workshop. Send us an enquiry first with a rough list of what you have and we'll book your visit and issue a ticket number, so your equipment is logged the moment it arrives.
What happens to equipment that can't be reused?
It's recycled — separated into material streams and processed properly. 100% of what we collect is diverted from landfill.
Do I need a Waste Transfer Note?
If you're a business disposing of waste, yes — Duty of Care requires it, and keeping it is your responsibility, not ours. We complete and sign it digitally on site at collection and email you a copy the same day.
How is my data destroyed?
Every data-bearing device is processed to HMG Infosec Standard No. 5 or NIST 800-88 (Clear or Purge, matched to your policy), or physically shredded in accordance with BS EN 15713 where destruction is required. All of it happens at the licensed facility.
Which areas do you cover?
Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield and the surrounding East Midlands. Larger multi-site or national requirements can be handled by our sister company Computer IT Disposals.
Do you wipe devices before reselling them?
Yes. Anything that goes into our refurbished stock is wiped to the same standards as equipment we destroy, before it goes anywhere near a shelf.
